To An Immortal Soldier…

The lanes where you grew up,
the houses you lived in,
the barracks where you stayed,
the terrains which you conquered…
wouldn’t forget you..
you haven’t died,
Just shifted to our hearts..
Where your valiant tales,
will always stay,
inspiring the rest,,
to die with the flag,
around their chest.

What I thought, and where I have got

As a growing up kid in Pune (I’m still a kid, just little more grown up), I always had some changing ambitions all through the years I was growing older. Different mindsets made me think about different careers.

When I was in kindergarten or KG as it popularly called, I wanted to be a scientist. It was just a spontaneous choice. I was inspired by watching scientists on TV and cartoons. At that time being a scientist for me just meant that a person should invent something revolutionary, I didn’t think about what kind of education I’ll need. Now going by that ‘inventor’ thought, I wanted to start early, as I saw a lot of robots on TV so an ambitious idea to make them myself came to my mind. At that time the only tools I had were dry cells ( batteries ), and copper wires. I wanted to build a humanoid robot, and you shouldn’t be surprised to know that I failed in that.

This thought of being a scientist made a permanent settlement in my brain till middle-school ( class 8th-9th). Though, I still couldn’t invent anything, but now I knew how to be scientist ‘academically’.
Yeah, I needed a bachelors in science degree (BSc as it is lovingly called) but now I knew one more thing, that no one cared for a normal BSc in this world. I instructed that ‘thought’ to leave my brain after knowing this. And now I was thoughtless, as far as career was concerned.

Then I passed tenth (now I wouldn’t tell what it’s called), I took science. The most flexible and ‘in-demand’ (at that time, maybe ‘commerce’ now) option. By this time the thought of being a doctor started fancying me. Isn’t it cool?? You get to change your name from ‘someone’ to Doctor ‘someone’. Then I passed 12th and then wrote ‘THE COMPETETIVE EXAMS’.

I couldn’t qualify for national medical entrance, NO SURPRISES!!!!. But I did qualify for a medical seat in Punjab. My rank was 1200 in whole Punjab. SURPRISE!!!!! There were total 2000 seats, I was assured of a seat. I started dreaming of my name change, my wearing of stethoscope, talking to my imaginary patients.

Now, no wonders, I’m not a medical student now, or I wouldn’t have been free to write this kind of stuff.

Calamity struck, I was born in Punjab, my dad was born in Punjab, my grandfather and actually everyone of my forefathers, but I had not done my 10th and 12th from Punjab, and that’s the reason I was given when they refused me a seat. A natural domicile of Punjab was denied his dream just because his dad was serving in Military and posted somewhere else. The dreams were shattered.

But bieng a pessimist always helps, we know what can go wrong and we always prepare for it. I had my backup plan ‘LAW’. I was always interested in studying law, to be an advocate, to fight cases, but at that time I thought it wasn’t a fancy option. I know it’s not like what we see on TV and popular media, it’s all that minus the glamour. But it was what interested me, I chose to be a lawyer. finally.

From a scientist to a future lawyer, life always gives us options. And the journey continuous….

Gauri Bhosale Missing – Update

There is an update in the Gauri Bhosale Missing case, faked and curated by Star Plus and ABP news. I hope you have read my previous post on ‘Gauri Bhosale’ bieng a publicity stunt.

If not you can read it here Gauri Bhosale missing -Fake publicity by STAR PLUS

TV commercials, on STAR PLUS, ABP news and many other channels also are now running an ad in which the newsreader says that ‘last time the conversation we were having with Gauri, couldn’t be completed, and now Gauri is on line’ and then the conversation starts, where Gauri refuses to tell about her whereabouts and blames Kohlapur’s Appasaheb as the reason for her problems.
And then she promises to come in front of everyone on 12th november at 7:30 PM on STAR PLUS

As you guys know, you don’t need to worry, this is just part of a promotional campaign for their new serial ‘Khamoshian’ and most probably the serial is going to be launched on the date and time specified.

I want to repeat, THIS KIND OF UNETHICAL AND CHEAP PUBLICITY WHICH PLAYS WITH THE EMOTIONS OF AN AVERAGE VIEWER AND TAKES ADVANTAGE OF A PERSONS CONCERN FOR A MISSING PERSON IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE. This promotional campaign has crossed its limits and questions the liberty given to our media.

My Indian Political View

I am the kind of person who participates in national prime-time discussions everyday….
In my drawing room, in front of my TV. No one listens to me, I know.

I am just like any other aam-aadmi (mango-people), I morally hate corruption, I feel good when officials are caught red-handed…. But just like most of my country-men I too give bribe, to babus, peons, railway ticket checkers (because I don’t get reservations even after booking 60 days before).

Why I don’t join politics—
When you are just a citizen and not a politico, you don’t have any responsibility. Just say anything, walk anywhere and you don’t have to issue a manifesto which you are expected to abide by.
Its just like being a normal student in a school. All fun, no restrictions. Now when you are into politics or by some great luck get elected ( will tell you about the luck thing later), you are like the head student of the school (commonly called captain), you are not supposed to do fun stuff, roam around, and you are responsible for every student, you get scolded when something goes wrong at the campus. In simple words,” It’s too dirty to clean now”.

Why one can’t win elections—
Yes, I’m a known pessimist, my words are full of discouragement, my thoughts are negative. But to answer my critics I say – “I don’t think negative, I just prepare for the worst”. When I was taught about politics and democracy in class 9th and 10th I had that idealistic picture in my mind that democracy is the best, we get to voice our views, we are free, we get to contest elections and fair elections. Then I grew up ( not much ), I saw today’s India, different from my idealistic India. Everything was different. The election process is not fair. Everyone knows this but no one does anything about it, that is the irony. Elections today are not won on promises and ideals they are won by buying votes, buying officials, tampering voting machines. It has become a show of ones economic prowess. A poor person can’t dream of becoming a leader.

Todays Scenario
We had a system where judicial, executive and legislative parts of the government were supposed to do their work and this was called the system of checks and balances. This checked the distribution of power. All three parts were equally responsible. Today, after more than 60 years of independence, legislative (political) part of government is the one which has taken over the system. Officials, judges all are under pressure from Netas. No neta is under pressure from them. Baabus are transferred on orders of ministers. Judges are selected by politicians. The most learned and genius minds like our IASs and IPSs are made to work like servants by them.

My Questions (unanswered)
Why people should join politics?? To serve the people… Right…
I wonder why there is so much competition for being a minister, more so of being a minister of a malaidaar department, why?? Ministers who have net worth of 2 crore rupees end up being worth 100 crores after five years of loot… no one questions them… why??? Officials and baabus who work with dignity, honestly and expose scams are transferred more than a normal corrupt employ…
they don’t get promotions, their juniors become their seniors, their life is ruined, they get death threats… Just because they are doing there job well?? Why?? Who is going to answer these questions???
